English Culture and Educational Approaches: An Unconventional
Open Seminar on the Subject of “National Studies”
 
      A teacher of the Department of Philology and Language Teaching of Navoi Innovation University, Khalilova Mukhtarama, organized an open seminar lesson on the subject of “National Studies” on the subject of “The United Kingdom and Northern Ireland” for 2nd year English language students of the 1st group.
 
       
        During the lesson, students not only gained theoretical knowledge, but also got acquainted with the traditions of English culture. In particular, religious and cultural holidays such as “Easter”, “Halloween”, “Eisteddfod” and “Burns Night” were demonstrated through live performances by students.
           
 
             This seminar was organized based on unconventional approaches, and observing teachers were also involved in the lesson process. The methods of “Ice breaker”, “TBLT” (Task-Based Language Teaching), “TPR” (Total Physical Response) and “Audio-lingual” were effectively used.
 
 
           
         Such interactive approaches served to further strengthen students’ knowledge of the English language and culture and contributed greatly to improving their practical skills.
