"Religious extremism and terrorism are a threat
to the development of society"

Head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Navoi Regional Department of Internal Affairs, Major Kh. Mukhtorov, met with students and youth at the Navoi Innovation University. The meeting discussed measures being taken in our country to combat religious extremism and terrorism, as well as issues of protecting young people from these vices.

Uzbekistan has long been a country where representatives of different nationalities and religions have lived in peace. However, today some extremist movements are trying to attract young people into their sphere of influence. In particular, it was noted that they use methods such as propaganda via the Internet, distribution of religious materials, and organization of "cells".

It was also warned that some young people who have gone abroad to find work are deceived by extremist ideas and, upon returning, are encouraging others to follow this path. The importance of strengthening the scientific level, professional and moral education of young people in order to reduce the impact of extremist movements was noted.

It was emphasized that not only the government and educational institutions, but also each parent have a responsibility in this regard. At the end of the meeting, the students received answers to their questions from the expert.
